The Sports Barre®
THE SPORTS BARRE® is an athletic approach to barre fitness classes. This EXTREMELY targeted work out can give you chiseled arms, sculpted thighs, a graceful curve in the lower back, & tight lifted assets! Create long and lean muscles!
THE SPORTS BARRE® is a unique combination of barre work, core conditioning, orthopedic exercises, and sports performance exercises, was created by Cori Ann Lentz, and is only offered at San Ramon Valley Fitness!
What is THE SPORTS BARRE®?
Simply defined, it is graceful athleticism! While yoga and Pilates remain strong, dance-based classes are all the rage this year! THE SPORTS BARRE®, a fitness program inspired by barre work, combines functional training for sports with the barre and fitness accessories to keep your class in continuous fat burning motion.
THE SPORTS BARRE® class focuses on abdominal strength and spinal flexibility to develop a powerful core, tight glutes, total body muscle tone and an overall tight package! Train the entire body and mind while emphasizing proper alignment and posture, effective body mechanics, correct breathing, improved circulation, chiseled arms, shaped thighs, and defined abs!
THE SPORTS BARRE® is challenging, yet effective. Many participants develop a love-hate-love relationship with this class because it will definitely work you into a hot mess, but after the mess is cleaned up, you will simply feel HOT!
This class presents evolved barre exercises using small apparatus including toning bands, stability balls, medicine balls, foam rollers, straps, BOSU balls, BOSU ballast balls, and gliding discs.
The class can be completed barefoot or with sticky socks for more challenge and muscle activation, or with athletic shoes for more support.
You may not complete this class in regular socks because it is completed on a wood floor and you may slip with regular socks.
Although the class is typically 30 minutes, don't expect half of a work-out! The 30 minute class is extremely respectful of your time and will efficiently work your total body in ways you have never felt before.
The hour format of this class is called Happy Hour at THE SPORTS BARRE®. Happy Hour at THE SPORTS BARRE® is an ADVANCED, INTENSE class and is not recommended for beginners! YOU MUST TAKE AT LEAST SIX 30 MINUTE SPORTS BARRE CLASSES PRIOR TO ATTEMPTING THE HOUR CLASS!
We also offer several other fitness classes to help you have fun while you work that body into a hot mess, but THE SPORTS BARRE® and Bad Kitty Sassy Fitness™ classes are the most popular classes at San Ramon Valley Fitness and the personal favorite classes of the owner, Cori Ann Lentz!
